Presentation
jQuery and
QUnit at the Library of Congress
This
presentation will cover a brief overview of the speaker’s knowledge of the use
of jQuery and QUnit in various projects at the LoC. From early use in the
World Digital Library (wdl.org), complex application development with MetaSearch (loc.gov/fedsearch/metasearch), to Library-wide use with the
Share initiative (read.gov), and finally fundamental web application and JSON
ReST architecture for Prints and Photographs (loc.gov/pictures) which is driven by continuous testing
built directly on jQuery and QUnit. We will also briefly cover usage of
jQuery for utility scripting outside the browser, including a web crawler for
document indexing and document geocoding with an xml database and google maps
API.
About the
Presenter
